Day 8: "Memory Lane"

This might not be memory lane for all of you, but I'll bet some of you in the U.S. remember your mothers or grandmothers collecting Green Stamps and sticking them in the little books.  This dispenser must have been used a lot because some of the numbers are worn off.  I softened the picture slightly to make it seem more like a memory.  I fixed the issues and reposted.

  1. I don't know what those are at all but why did they collect them if they had a whole roll of them in a dispenser?
Bet that as it may, the lighting looks fine to me!

    1. The dispenser was at the store. They would dial the number of dollars you spent, and the stamps would come out the side. Those are the only ones you got, and then you had to lick them and stick them in a book. When you had enough full books, you could trade them for merchandise. That's how my mom got all our sheets when I was a kid.

  2. Aha, very interesting. How did you come to have your hands on the dispenser?

  3. Love the high key. I'm not familiar with the Green Stamps, either, but how interesting!
